Center of Ethnocultural and Historical - Anthropological Research of Karaganda Buketov University was opened by the order of the rector of KSU №41 of 12.01.2011 on the basis of educational and research laboratory "Ethno-cultural research" for fundamental and applied research in the field of ethno-cultural and historical-anthropological, toponymic, regional, local history researches.

The main scientific direction is ethnocultural and historical-anthropological studies of Kazakhstan at the end of the XIX-XX centuries

Tasks:

• carrying out fundamental and applied research in the field of ethnocultural and historical-anthropological, toponymic, regional, local history research;
• determination and development of the main directions of ethnocultural and historical-anthropological, toponymic, regional studies;
• development of fundamental, risky and contractual projects; participation in competitions for obtaining grants for scientific research;
• organization of the work of methodological seminars and scientific - practical conferences;
• study of historical, archaeological and ethnographic monuments of the Republic of Kazakhstan; publication of scientific research;
• preparation of teaching aids for schools and universities, etc.
