Dates and facts
Foreign Languages Department has existed since the opening of Karaganda State University. In the early 90s it became a part of the originated Foreign Languages Faculty. The first Heads of the Department were associate professors Nurzhanova M.U. and Ayazbekova B.K. In different years it was headed by candidate of pedagogical sciences Akbayeva G.N., PhD Gazikhanova Zh.G., PhD Smagulova G.T., Kokhanover T.A., PhD Shunkeyeva S.A.
From 2008 the Department started a phased implementation of the program of multilingual education, and then trilingual education in accordance with the Plan of the Nation «100 steps».
Currently, the staff of Department pays a great attention to creating a high-quality base for educational and methodological support, continues to develop educational and methodological complexes in the disciplines of Department as well as copyright print and electronic publications.
Over the past ten years the teachers of Department have issued more than 30 manuals and textbooks, 25 electronic training programs to supplying foreign educational publications used in the academic process.
