The Department of Basic Military Training and Martial Arts trains specialists in the field of military-patriotic education and physical training of pre-conscription youth, offers bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programs.

Bachelor’s degree students of the department have the opportunity to study along the trajectory “Basic military and physical training”, master’s degree students along the trajectory “Basic military training”. The curriculum includes such topical disciplines as “Military engineering training”, “Military heritage of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly”, “Criteria-based assessment technologies”, “Modern methods of teaching basic military training at school”, “Innovative technologies in the organization of the educational process at school”.

Students will receive special knowledge in the field of military-patriotic education, methods of teaching basic military training at school, military pedagogy and psychology, and military science.

Graduates of the department will be able to work as teachers-organizers of the basic military and technological training, organizers of the civil defense and life safety service, instructors in the security services, in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Internal and Border Troops of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the bodies of the National Security Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the ranks of sergeant and officer personnel. During the period of mobilization activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, a graduate can hold primary officer positions.

The scientific interests of the department are related to the study of the problems of military-patriotic education of youth.
