History
The department was founded in 1984 at the Karaganda Pedagogical Institute. In different years, the department was headed by leading scientists, namely Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor DupliakinA.G., Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Shishkanov V. V., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Akhtaeva M., candidate of Medical Sciences Kispaeva J.K., Krasnikova N.A., Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Dzhusupov S. I., Professor Akhmetova N. Sh., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Kolesnikova L. V., Associate Professor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tebenova K.S.
In 2005, the Master's program in Defectology was opened.
Teachers:
The department employs 14 teachers, including doctors, candidates, masters of science, holders of the republican title "The best teacher of the university": Associate Professor of Medical Sciences, Professor Tebenova K.S., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Bobrova V.V. The department includes professors of the Russian Academy of Education: Alshynbekova G. K., Tuganbekova K. M.
Students:
The number of students in the program has increased one and a half times over the past five years. Among the students there are representatives of different regions of Kazakhstan and citizens of Uzbekistan and Mongolia.
Employment opportunities:
The employment rate of graduates under the educational program «5B010500 - Defectology» was 81% in 2020.
Accreditation and leadership:
The programs of the department have the national accreditation of IQAA and take worthy positions in national rankings. In the IQAA ranking, the educational program «Defectology» for master's degree takes 1st place, the educational program «Defectology» for bachelor's degree takes 2nd place.
Projects:
Teachers of the department take part in realization of scientific grant projects:
- Training of teachers for professional activities in the context of inclusive education.
- Scientific and methodological support for students' volunteer activities in the framework of inclusive education.
- International project TEMPUS IV «Professionalization of educational programs for the training of social workers».
