FACULTY OF PHILOLOGY

It is one of the oldest faculties, founded in 1938. The Faculty offers a multi-level philological education, trains highly qualified specialists who are able to carry out pedagogical, research, artistic and journalistic activities at a high level.

The Faculty of Philology trains teachers of Kazakh language and literature, Russian language and literature, journalists. The bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs are implemented. The faculty has successfully implemented programs of multilingual education; students have the opportunity to attend courses in Polish, Latin, Romanian, Russian as a foreign language.

Graduates of the faculty are in demand and successfully teach in schools, colleges, universities, work in the media. The faculty consists of 5 departments: Kazakh linguistics, Kazakh literature, Russian language and literature named after G.A. Meiramov, practical course of Kazakh language, journalism.

The Faculty operates educational television, the Center for the Translation of Kazakh script into Latin Graphics, the Institute for the Study of the Spiritual Heritage of Kazakh People, the Research Project "Issues of Kassym scholar" and the website "Qasym.kz." There are language and multimedia classrooms, a rich fund of fiction and scientific literature.
