History:

History

The Faculty of Law was founded in 1972. In 1977, three departments were opened: theory and history of state and law, civil law and procedure, and criminal law and procedure. The first dean of the faculty was Ph.D., associate professor Z.Ya. Bezgans, who laid the foundations of legal education at the Karaganda University.

In subsequent years, the faculty was headed by: Candidate of Law, Associate Professor M.T. Imashev (1975-1980), - candidate of legal sciences, associate professor V.D. Shopin (1980-1984), candidate of legal sciences, associate professor K.K. Kusnidenov (1984-1986), Candidate of Law, Associate Professor V.I. Kulikov (1986-1989), - Doctor of Law, Professor B.Zh. Zhunusov (1990-1994), candidate of legal sciences, associate professor M.K. Umurkulov (1994-1999), - Doctor of Law, Professor E.K. Kubeev (1999-2000), Doctor of Law, Professor G.Z. Kozhakhmetov (2001-2019), - Candidate of Law, Associate Professor A.S. Kizdarbekov (2019-2020). Thanks to the professionalism of the leaders and the staff of the law faculty, the Karaganda scientific school of jurisprudence was created, and competent lawyers were trained for various spheres of the country's economy. Today, graduates of the faculty work in well-known companies in Kazakhstan develop legal practice and engage in teaching and research activities in domestic and foreign universities.

Teachers:

The faculty employs 72 teachers, including doctors, candidates, masters of science, 15 holders of the republican title "The best teacher of the university".

Students:

Today, 1408 students study at the faculty, including holders of state grants, the sign "Altyn belgi", representatives of other regions of Kazakhstan, citizens of Russia, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. There is an annual growth in the number of students of the faculty.

Employment:

The employment rate of graduates is 77%.

The faculty has a dissertation council for the defense of doctoral dissertations under the program 6D030100 - "Jurisprudence".

Accreditation and Leadership:

All educational programs of bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies have national accreditation in IQAA and occupy worthy positions in national ratings: the program 6M030100 "Jurisprudence" took 1st place in the IQAA rating in 2019 and 2020; the program 8D04207801 "Jurisprudence" took 3rd place in the IAAR rating in 2019 and 2nd place in 2020; in the rating "Atameken" the program 6В04203 "International Law" took 3rd place in 2019.

Academic mobility and internships:

The faculty is open to cooperation. The practice of guest lectures by leading foreign legal scholars from the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Kyrgyzstan has become widespread:

- Wroclaw University of Administration, Economics and Law (Poland): professors Christian Tsomplak, Artur Lavniczak; Topics of guest lectures: “Constitutional and legal mechanisms for the protection of children in Kazakhstan and Poland”, “Migration in Europe: the model of legal reguiation”, “Actual problems of complance with international electoral standards in national legislation”.

- All-Russian Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia: Professor Gladkikh V.I.

- Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin (Kyrgyzstan): professor Sydygalieva A.S., topic of the lecture: "Financial Law: Comparative Analysis".

- Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan: professor U.Sh. Shapak, lecture topic: "Model of constitutional control".

Teachers and students of the faculty undergo internships in leading international educational centres in Germany, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, USA, according to the programs of JSC National Centre for Advanced Studies "Orleu".

The scientific journal “Bulletin of Karaganda State University. Series of Law ", which is included in the List of COXON MES RK. Scientists from Slovakia, Russia, France, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, China, etc. are regularly published in it.
